Work with Us!

We’re hiring a Tasting Room Associate and a Harvest Intern. If you would like to be considered for either of these jobs, please send an email expressing your interest to info@longplaywine.com today!

Tasting Room Associate

Longplay is a small, ~1200 case winery located in Newberg, Oregon. We have a wonderful base of loyal customers and we produce some really tasty wines from our vineyard.

We are seeking a tasting room associate to help us sell some wine out of our hip, new tasting room. We foresee this position being part-time, 0-24 hours per week (depending on our needs and your goals). Wednesday-Sunday (some Sundays required).

Responsibilities include:

  • Engage with customers to provide an awesome wine tasting experience.
  • Help with packing boxes for wine club and other shipments.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while doing boring administrative tasks.
  • Help restock the wine storage space. (You’ll lift 40 pounds repeatedly and carry heavy boxes up and down stairs. It’s a good workout!)
  • Respect the vinyl records, people and wines.
  • Provide really excellent customer service.
  • Be flexible in scheduling so we can be sure the tasting room is staffed appropriately.
  • Organize and work at special events both at the winery and off-site.
  • Lend a hand on the production side in the vineyard and winery during harvest and bottling.

Harvest Intern

We need help making the wine! Longplay Wine and Élevée Winegrowers both make wine in the Longplay Winemaking Facility. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in every aspect of harvest and wine production. It almost will be like working two harvests in one! You’ll be part of a 3-person team, working one-on-one with both Todd Hansen (Longplay Wine) and Tom Fitzpatrick (Élevée Winegrowers). You essentially will be running the cellar and doing much of the work involved in the production of the wines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Operate forklift to unload fruit bins, weigh fruit, and dump fruit onto sorting line or into press
  • Meticulously prepare and clean crush pad equipment, fermenters, and press
  • Move, lift, and wash barrels and other equipment
  • Perform pump-overs and punch-downs
  • Clean and operate membrane press
  • Monitor, measure, and record data from ferments
  • Cleaning … lots and lots of cleaning.

Qualifications:

  • Must be hard working, reliable, and very, very meticulous.
  • Capable of lifting 40+ pounds and not mind getting dirty and sticky.
  • Tolerance for yellow jackets, ladybugs, and earwigs (or, as we like to call them, “ticklebugs”).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, up to 10-14 hour days, seven days a week (for a span of a few weeks).
  • Must have transportation to the winery.
  • Forklift driving and wine production experience preferred, but will certainly consider a highly motivated, “quick to catch on,” and capable candidate.

We’re looking for someone to start around October 3rd and work until mid-November. This is the ideal harvest position for an individual interested in exposure to all facets of wine production. This will be extremely hard, but rewarding work … and lots of fun!

If you’re interested in helping out in the tasting room we can adjust the start/end dates to meet your needs.

At Longplay we believe every individual merits our respect and consideration regardless of, inter alia, race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, nation of origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, Veteran status.
